United States Strongman, Inc. Nevada State Representative Justin Purcell is hosting a great event on Halloween for a great cause. Kudos, Justin!
Chris Lund has been a resident of West Wendover, NV for over 30 years, during that time he was a pastor of a Christian Church that went above and beyond when trying to help people. From putting the homeless in a hotel room for a few nights, to having disadvantaged residents in his home for dinner. Unexpectedly, his building experienced an electrical fire which burnt the church to the ground. He's still maintained his sermons each week, and continues to help people, but a lot of the congregation has become inactive due to the locations he's force to hold church at. Casinos, out of town at other people's homes, outside, etc. We've always aimed to help him rebuild, and I've held Nevada's Strongest Man each year since. I'd like to be able to host 4 competitions a year, and grow the sport while giving back to those who always help everyone. We hold Strongman training in Vegas every week, classes are completely free, we just want the sport to be accessible to people of all strengths. So with continued recruitment and promotion we grow each year and donate more and more. Chris has been able to purchase land, but now lacks the funds to build. This year we're donating all proceeds like usual, but we also have an up and coming food truck from Las Vegas that is donating all profits as well. LV Food Junky is going to continue to support the effort by donating all tips earned to charity for the entire 2014, 2015 season. Texas Power Concepts has also Donated amazing equipment to fuel the curiousities and interests of athletes to entice them to throw down at the best sport that tests the overall potential of the entire body.
