The Land of the Midnight Sun Comes in at Number 42!

Your United States Strongman is proud to welcome the 42nd state and 48th State Representative. Dave Rasmussen, Alaska State Representative, Navy Veteran, welcome to the Revolution!

Some people have asked what is the Revolution? Well, simply put, it is the taking back of strongman by the athletes for the athletes.

Your USS leadership, the Four Horsemen, all athletes, are proud to have the most represented strongman organization on the planet.

The real change in strongman happens at the grass roots level. The excellence in strongman comes from the exchange of ideas between leadership and folks at the state and local level. Here is another brick in the foundation of USS in his own words!

Hello from the Land of the Midnight Sun, the Last Frontier… My name is Dave Rasmussen, and I am honored to represent my fellow athletes and United States Strongman in the great State of Alaska. I recently (a month ago) graduated with my Bachelors of Science of Physical Education with minors in Coaching and Nutrition, after finishing my time in the U.S. Navy, and am working on my Master of Arts in Teaching. I will be taking my CSCS (NSCA) and CISSN (ISSN), I will officially open Ballistic Strength and Nutrition.

I started this journey 16 years ago at the age of 33 and body weight of 131#. When I turned 49 (wait that was today…Really) I topped the scales at 246# and am the strongest I have ever been. I have a passion for strength sports and want to see the opportunities for competing grow. I have played an active role in promoting Highland Games as an Assistant Athletic Director, and did my Internship promoting other strength competitions and the Olympia Cup Olympic Lifting Competition at the Mr. O. I still compete in the Highland Games, Strongman, Olympic Lifting and unsanctioned Odd-lift competitions.

This is not about me, but YOU, the athletes of United States Strongman. You are what makes this a great organization. Without YOU, none of this is possible. I am here to serve YOU. If I can be of assistance in any way, please do not hesitate to call or drop a line. “The more you sweat in training, the less you bleed in battle” so keep kicking arse and taking names….

Yours In Strength

Dave “Boats” Rasmussen
