I am very excited to announce that the USA Classic Qualfier to Giants Live, 105 KG World Pro-Am Classic and the U. S. Strongman 181/198 Classic are on! The shows will be co-promoted with Aaron Molin of Core Fitness Club who has been promoting top level strongman events for years, and will take place on August 8, 2015 in Martinsville, Indiana at the Morgan County Fair.
The USA Classic is non-sanctioned and is opened to all competitors, amateurs and pros alike, regardless of country, federation or status. Athletes that have already signed up include: Luke Skaarup, Ken Nowicki, Ian Darr and Dave Daly.
The 105 KG World Pro Am Classic is open to current 105 KG Pros from across the globe. It is also open to 105 KG amateurs. There will be no limit on Pros, but we will only take the first 10 amateurs. Amateurs will be required to have a United States Strongman membership. The prize for the winner will be either cash or a trip overseas to compete.
The U.S. Strongman 181/198 Classic will be open to the first 10 in each weight class. Athletes will be required to have a United States Strongman membership. The prize for each class will be either cash or a trip overseas to compete. Athletes that have already signed up include: Shawn Schumaker 198, Casey Day 181, Quint Zambon 181 and Mike Sidewell 181.
The point of this exercise is and has always been to give all strongman athletes an opportunity for advancement. The Giants Live Qualifier is set and myself, Willie Wessels and others are working to secure opportunities for the other classes.
